It was still a beautiful purple either way. It covered really well and was easy to use. Even on my over dyed hair it washed right out with one shampoo (Some brands tend to soak in and take a bit more to get out.) The scalp skin was a bit pinker than usual, as if dye ingregients had slid off the hair to the scalp?I tried it three different days, same utter lack of staying each time. Two hair dressers have told me you have to damage or rough up the hair shaft with peroxide to get it to stick. The can says nothing about that. UPDATE - having some still in the can, I decide to give it one more try. This time I washed the hair in HOT water and blow dried it hot (to open the hair shafts a bit) and applied the spray immediately, spraying five or six layers of purple. This time it stayed.
