This does cover the gray and blends pretty well, but be careful, especially when it's brand new because the brush is really loaded with product and it can be very clumpy. If you hold your hair down on the side of the part you want to cover just barely touch it (I even wipe most of the product off of the wand with a tissue before using it) as you move along the part line ... then do the other side of the part, also carefully. If you need to smooth you can use a fine-toothed comb to blend it in. For the "sideburn" hair, pull the hair away from your skin so the product doesn't smear onto your skin and, again, just touch the hair lightly and comb through. It lasts until your next shampoo if you don't brush or comb it after it dries (it can flake).

Not quite the purple that you see on the bottle, it seemed to have a bit of a pink tone on my bleached sections of hair, but it showed up much better over the black sections. It was still a beautiful purple either way. It covered really well and was easy to use. Even on my over dyed hair it washed right out with one shampoo (Some brands tend to soak in and take a bit more to get out.) Definitely the best spray in color I've used.

Great coverage with this one! Doesn't smell that great (the blue one smells better, and does cover even better than the purple or even the pink!), but it does the job.

Very little 'dust' floating after use, unlike the pink which turned EVERYTHING pink... eep!

All in all, a GREAT product.

I sprayed it on the tips of my hair around my face and top of my head, loved the look in the mirror, drove to a meeting, wondered why no one commented on my decorative hair until I saw myself in a mirror -- not a hint of purple. The scalp skin was a bit pinker than usual, as if dye ingregients had slid off the hair to the scalp?

I tried it three different days, same utter lack of staying each time.

Two hair dressers have told me you have to damage or rough up the hair shaft with peroxide to get it to stick. The can says nothing about that.

UPDATE - having some still in the can, I decide to give it one more try. This time I washed the hair in HOT water and blow dried it hot (to open the hair shafts a bit) and applied the spray immediately, spraying five or six layers of purple. This time it stayed.
